The purpose of this club is to try and help improve the pipeline for underrepresented minorities, specifically Latinx students going to medical school. We also want to give undergraduates the opportunity to be able to meet current medical students and hopefully initiate mentoring opportunities. This chapter will provide undergraduate pre-med students with the opportunity to be part of the organization Latino Medical Students Association (LMSA) which they can call their own.
LMSA allows for networking opportunities with medical students, deans of medical schools and/or physicians. Members will be given the opportunity to do events and workshops with medical students. This chapter will also be paired with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons to further aid undergrads with networking and mentorship opportunities.
