I am the new Student Psychological Counselor: Confidential Advocate who works in the Office of Diversity and Compliance. I provide confidential clinical services to students who have experienced gender-based violence which includes sexual assault/harassment, intimate partner/domestic violence, stalking, and gender-based harassment/discrimination.
With the new political administration and recent changes, it is important that CCNYhave a deeper understanding of the current climate on our campus for our students. This is a great opportunity to have your voices heard. Please see attached invitation for the more details.

Upper Manhattan Organizer
for Transportation Alternatives.
TransAlt is a non-profit advocacy group for pedestrians and cyclists. We currently have a campaign to get much needed traffic calming and a protected bike lane on Upper Amsterdam Ave from 110-155th st. After one year of advocating for this change on Upper Amsterdam the NYCDOT just put together a plan for Upper Amsterdam Ave and here it isÔÇï
ÔÇïWe here at TransAlt appreciate the work of the DOT, the left turn bays and reduction of the north and southbound traffic lane will help immensely. We would like to see a protected two way bike lane on Upper Amsterdam Ave.
We are reaching out to you all because the City College runs along Upper Amsterdam Avenue and we imagine that some students commute to class and work via bicycle, scooter or even roller blades and that having a protected bike lane along Amsterdam Ave between 110-162 would be a welcome addition to the community.
This Thursday is the meeting of the Transportation Committee of Community Board 9 and I am trying to organize a fairly sizeable group from the community to speak in favor of a plan for the pedestrian and cycling improvements along Upper Amsterdam. Please contact me if you are interested in learning more. I look forward to hearing from you!
