BioNews Today

Just earlier this month, the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine was awarded jointly to Dr. Katalin Karikó and Dr. Drew Weissman for their discoveries on nucleoside base modifications. It was their work that provided the information needed to develop the mRNA vaccines against COVID-19 and revolutionized our understanding of how mRNA interacts with our immune system. The amazing feat of developing a vaccine within months of the outbreak was built on years of their hard work!
