Welcome to our newsletter launch. As always, TriBeta aims to help you extend the boundaries of scientific research and academia. Stay tuned for exciting opportunities in research, academic scholarship, and current news in the scientific world!

For now, here are some upcoming events we will be hosting to help you jumpstart your research career.

Opportunities:

  1. Downstate Summer Research Program: SUNY School of Graduate Studies provides biomedical science research internships for a 8 to 10 week period during the summer for undergraduates currently enrolled as sophomores or juniors. Apply here(Deadline: April 22nd, 2023)
  2. NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates Opportunity: The Sala Lab at Arizona State University is looking for undergraduate students to participate in research activities in grassland ecosystem ecology. (Deadline: March 12th, 2023)
  3. Boston University SURF Program: The SURF Program is open to non-BU students who are sophomores or juniors, and wish to conduct research in the sciences or technology fields in a Boston University lab, mentored by a BU faculty member. Apply here! (Deadline: March 12th, 2023)
  4. SURP at NYU: The Center for Neural Science hosts a Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) for undergraduates with a strong interest in neuroscience. Apply here(Deadline: April 15th, 2023)
  5. BioFLOW Research in South Korea: Ever wanted to study abroad? In the middle of a gap year? This is the perfect opportunity to get research experience while working abroad in a research facility in South Korea. Check it out! Apply here(Deadline: March 15th, 2023)

It's Women's History Month! So in this month's highlight, we're honoring Dr. Carolyn Ruth Bertozzi. Dr Bertozzi is an American chemist and Nobel laureate. She coined the term "bioorthogonal chemistry" and has made ground breaking discoveries about chemical reactions that are compatible with living systems. In other words, we can now control chemistry inside living cells!

Meet Your Match

Meet your Match is open for registration. It will be held on March 7th, 2023 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM via Zoom. Please join us by clicking here. You will be able to learn more about current research being done by graduate students at CCNY & connect with potential research mentors.

Honors Research Track

Honors Research Track Information Session is open for registration. It will be held on March 14th, 2023 at 12:30 PM on Zoom. Click here to register. You will be able to hear from Dr. Christine Li and Dr. Osceola Whitney about honors research and independent study as well as how to paply to receive research credits.

Research Symposium

The Biology Research Symposium is an event where current undergraduates will showcase their research! It will be held on March 28th, 2023 at 11:00 AM in MR 801. You will be able to learn more about research at CCNY and the experience of your peers. Don't miss it!
