This informative presentation provides student leaders the opportunity to learn about LGBTQ+ protections and resources for LGBTQ+ and questioning students at CCNY and how to foster an LGBTQ+ affirming environment for their peers. Topics include:
1. Know Your Rights (LGBTQ+ protections at the NYS, NYC, and CUNY levels)
2. LGBTQ+ Resources at CCNY and Throughout CUNY
3. Best Practices (maintaining an LGBTQ+ affirming environment)

Jake graduated from CCNY in 2019 with a B.A. in Political Science and double-minors in Community Change Studies and Women & Gender Studies. Transferring to CCNY from Suffolk County Community College, Jake hit the ground running as a student leader as President of CCNY’s LGBTQ+ Open Alliance Club. In 2021, Jake earned his M.A. in Urban Affairs at Queens College. Jake has worked with the CCNY LGBTQ+ Student Center since opening in 2021. Since joining, Jake became a CCNY representative with the CUNY LGBTQIA+ Consortium and the CUNY LGBTQI+ Council. On the Council, he serves as co-chair of the Outreach & Online Presence Subcommittee and member of the CUNY LGBTQI+ Student Conference Subcommittee.
