Your participation in student clubs and organizations can help improve your college experience and build skills that are valued in the workplace. Learn about the key skills and competencies employers desire in college graduates and how to showcase them when looking for an internship or job.

Transformational leadership requires each of us to think about how our decisions impact the whole of our community and the servant leader goes a step beyond to prioritizing needs of others. How can we serve others, while also ensuring the goals of an organization are met?

During this interactive and engaging workshop leaders will dive into the world of intersectionality, uncovering how diverse identities shape experiences and learning powerful strategies to create more inclusive and equitable communities where they are. Leaders will learn how to embrace intersectionality to be more effective and empathetic in their roles and create spaces where everyone can thrive toward our highest possibilities.

Leaders will have the opportunity to learn about club finances and budgeting with the Student Affairs Budget Coordinator and student life operations manager. Leaders will learn about the intricacies of their clubs finances, how it can be used, and what opportunities are available to them.

Participants will have the opportunity to discuss healthy norms, navigate cultural and community values and gain language and other tools to assert their own boundaries and values in a relationship, and support others in doing so as well.

Imagine a world where each person communicates effectively about their needs, even in tense conflicts. Building our individual skills is a step toward such a world. This workshop is not about tips for speaking clearly to an audience. This workshop focuses on practicing communication in conflicts where people need to work together. Learn how to use communication methods like debate, discussion, disengagement, and dialogue at the right moments to problem solve. We'll also practice using clear communication around one's own interests, not just one's positions (or stances) and learn the skill of checking in on our perceptions in tricky moments.

This workshop will look at the effective characteristics of a leader, how to improve your relationships with others, and things you can do right now to manage strong emotions and other mental health issues. By keeping your emotions in check you will be able to effectively lead others and be someone that people look up to.

Unlock the power of teamwork in this engaging 50-minute Leadership Workshop designed to give students a hands-on experience in understanding what leadership truly means. Through interactive activities, you'll explore the dynamics of working collaboratively as a team, share personal experiences, and discover how these insights can shape your leadership style.

I will share effective communication skills that are helpful for leadership roles, and strategic skills that help leaders deal with their employees promoting a better culture in the workplace. Educate leaders on racial microaggression, discuss what exactly is a microaggression, and ways to ways to cope when faced with microaggressions. Learning the importance of communication in the workforce, and helping leaders to create a pleasant more productive workplace.

This informative presentation provides student leaders the opportunity to learn about LGBTQ+ protections and resources for LGBTQ+ and questioning students at CCNY and how to foster an LGBTQ+ affirming environment for their peers. Topics include:
1. Know Your Rights (LGBTQ+ protections at the NYS, NYC, and CUNY levels)
2. LGBTQ+ Resources at CCNY and Throughout CUNY
3. Best Practices (maintaining an LGBTQ+ affirming environment)
