Denise B. Maybank

Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs

Denise B. Maybank is the vice chancellor for student affairs at The City University of New York. In this role, she assumes responsibility for unifying the student affairs and enrollment management functions of the University’s Central Office to guide the work of supporting student engagement from recruitment through to completion and beyond.

Prior to joining CUNY, Maybank served as the vice president and associate provost for student affairs and services at Michigan State University. During her 15-year tenure there, she served in progressive leadership roles beginning as an associate vice president in 2005. Maybank contributed to significant initiatives structuring the undergraduate experience; developed partnerships with the Graduate School and colleges to initiate the Graduate Student Life and Wellness emphasis; and conceived and implemented lasting innovative programs and services.

Throughout her career, she has been a member of professional associations representing the disciplines and contexts in which she serves. She is a member of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) Board of Directors, representing the Council on Student Affairs; she values the opportunities to have her voice and expertise included in national initiatives on higher education. As an active member of the communities in which she lives, she has served on various boards of directors for civic and social service organizations, often being elected to leadership positions. She is also an active member of her church community and sorority.

A lifelong learner, Maybank has earned additional credentials as an educational leader through the American Association of State Colleges and Universities and the Harvard Institute for Educational Management. She holds a doctorate in counseling psychology from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts in educational administration from Teachers College, Columbia University. Maybank is a proud CUNY alumna, having earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Brooklyn College.

Dr. Vincent Boudreau, President

President of The City College of New York

Vincent Boudreau was appointed president of The City College of New York by the Board of Trustees of The City University of New York on December 4, 2017. Prior to that, he served as the founding dean of the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership at CCNY from 2013 through 2016. From 2002 through 2013, he served as the founding director of the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership at CCNY, was a professor of political science at City College, and a member of the City University of New York graduate faculty.

A specialist in the politics of social movements, particularly in Southeast Asia, his latest book is Resisting Dictatorship: Repression and Protest in Southeast Asia (Cambridge University Press). He also conducted research about government transitions to democracy, collective violence, and the relationship between civil society, social movements, and democratization processes in Indonesia and the Philippines.

At City College, where Dr. Boudreau has worked since receiving his degree, he served as the director of the M.A. Program in International Relations, the chair of the Department of Political Science, the director of the International Studies Program, and the deputy dean of the Division of Social Science. He serves on the editorial committee of Comparative Politics, and has undertaken projects with ActionAid Asia, Jubilee South Asia, The Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement, and Freedom House.

Dee Dee Mozeleski

Senior Vice President of the Office of Institutional Advancement, Communications and External Relations

Dee Dee Mozeleski is the Senior Vice President of the Office of Institutional Advancement, Communications and External Relations, and, as such, also serves as the Executive Director of the Foundation for City College. In 2016, she was asked to serve in the additional capacity of Senior Advisor to the President of City College, Dr. Vince Boudreau. Ms. Mozeleski has spent almost thirty years working in service to public higher education institutions, cultural programs, international agencies and government organizations. At City, she is a member of the College's senior leadership team, the President's Cabinet and serves on a variety of special committees, including the Task Force for the Future of City College. Her responsibilities include philanthropic management of the Foundation for City College, stewarding and expanding the College's public profile, workforce development activities, city, state and federal government affairs oversight, community engagement projects and management of our campus emergency needs programs specific to Benny's Food Pantry, the Urban Gardens at CCNY and a portfolio of emergency support programs to expand opportunities for students.

During her time at City, she led the consolidation of the College's two fundraising organizations and oversaw the fundraising campaign which launched the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership in 2013 and, more recently, oversaw the launch of the College's new "Doing Remarkable Things Together" Campaign to bring the Foundation's endowment to $1 billion dollars. Having worked with some of the largest non-profit organizations in New York City and around the world, with a focus on North America, the Middle East and Africa, Ms. Mozeleski has focused her career working as a public servant in support of causes that impact communities on a global scale. A graduate of San Diego State University, Ms. Mozeleski currently serves on the Board of Advisors of the Appalachian Mountain Club, and as the advisor to the College's Outdoor Initiative and Hockey Club and is a member of the CASE District II Council and a member of the Association for Fundraising Professionals and Public Relations Society of America. She served as a Board Member of Women in Development, New York City and Seeds of Africa Foundation, where she also worked to build a K-12 school in Adama, Ethiopia. Ms. Mozeleski was recognized as CASE Professional of the Year (2021) for CASE District II and was named a 2021 Crain's New York Notable in Non-Profits and Crain's New York Notable in Marketing and Communications for 2023. She is a Cabinet Member for CASE District II and a Member of the Board of the National Scholarship Providers Association as well as a Board Member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. One of her most proud accomplishments is having raised a City College graduate, class of 2016 and 2022.

Rhea Faniel

Eric McGriff

Prevention Coordinator, Crime Victims Treatment Center

Eric McGriff (he/him) is an identical twin, a hip-hop violinist, and a competitive Latin ballroom dancer. He is also the Prevention Coordinator at the Crime Victims Treatment Center in New York City, where he oversees the organization's K-12, Campus, and Nightlife programs. Additionally, McGriff works both nationally and globally to support community-level strategies to prevent and end violence in his roles as a Dept. of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) TTA Consultant, and Global Peace Ambassador. Eric has an extensive background engaging men and boys as allies in ending gender-based violence and working with men who have caused harm in his capacity as a Prevention Educator and former Spokesperson for UN Women. Eric believes in being “in it, with” the communities he serves and strives to collaborate toward each community’s highest possibilities.

Ariela Garcia

Program Coordinator/Community Educator

Ariela Garcia is a first-generation Dominican American. She was born and raised in Washington Heights, NYC but currently resides in the Bronx with her partner, son, and dog, Simba. She graduated from CUNY Lehman College with a B.S. in 2017 and M.A. in 2019, both majoring in Health Education and Promotion with a concentration in community health. She also double-minored in Women’s and Gender Studies and Psychology.

Prior to COVID, she worked as a Family Planning Health Educator, and as a Clinic Engagement Coordinator for New York City Teen’s Connection with the DOHMH. She is currently a Program Coordinator/Community Educator at the Mount Sinai SAVI Program. She is very passionate about violence prevention, community health, and the autonomy that education can provide folks when it's provided to them.

Ernest Pierre Louis

Director, CCNY Black Male Initiative (BMI)

Ernest Pierre-louis possess close to ten years of experience working in the world of Student Affairs through various departments. He has extensive experience assisting and working closely with directors, senior-level managers, and student stakeholders on a college campus. Throughout his career he’s exemplifies a true commitment to developing students. A member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. He is extremely involved with his Fraternity. He is a past chapter Basileus and has held several positions and continues to chair a plethora of committees since his initiation

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the City College of New York and a MPA from Capella University

Prof. Marie Della Thomas

Prof. Marie Della Thomas

Professor Marie Della Thomas's journey in Advertising Publishing began over 30 years ago, working for Fortune 500 and 100 corporations. In 2009, Thomas embarked on a new chapter, demonstrating her entrepreneurial spirit by launching her own business, Marie Della Thomas and Associates, to assist publishing houses in New York City. Disney Publishing Worldwide, her first client, uses her experience as an expert accounting coordinator in advertising management, supervising the billing operations for magazine titles and supportin.g Disney's global sales staff.

Marie returned to her former employer, Disney Publishing Worldwide, Inc., as a Consultant. In this role, she was responsible for handling the Advertising billing for all four publications: Disney Magazine, Wonder Time, Family Fun, and Disney Adventures Magazine. Her work involved performing an evaluation and making recommendations to create a more efficient billing cycle and manage advertising coordinators, which significantly improved the company's operations. In earlier years, Times Mirror Magazines marked the start of Marie's career in publishing. Marie enjoyed working for a decade with TMM. Thomas has been given several awards throughout her career as a businesswoman who empowers others and for her love of volunteering and giving back to the community.

More recently, Professor Thomas found great fulfillment in teaching at Baruch College, where she earned a BA and MA in Corporate Communications. As a full-time faculty Lecturer and Communication Specialist, Marie imparts her knowledge in Business Communication Courses and Professional Speech Communication. She feels deeply honored to share her life experiences in Corporate America as a businesswoman, inspiring students to learn business strategies and pursue their goals. Marie's ultimate goal is to equip students with the necessary skills and tools to ensure they have a bright future in business.

Jake Nill

Associate Director, CCNY LGBTQ+ Student Center

Jake graduated from CCNY in 2019 with a B.A. in Political Science and double-minors in Community Change Studies and Women & Gender Studies. Transferring to CCNY from Suffolk County Community College, Jake hit the ground running as a student leader as President of CCNY’s LGBTQ+ Open Alliance Club. In 2021, Jake earned his M.A. in Urban Affairs at Queens College. Jake has worked with the CCNY LGBTQ+ Student Center since opening in 2021. Since joining, Jake became a CCNY representative with the CUNY LGBTQIA+ Consortium and the CUNY LGBTQI+ Council. On the Council, he serves as co-chair of the Outreach & Online Presence Subcommittee and member of the CUNY LGBTQI+ Student Conference Subcommittee.

Rhonda Fitzgerald

Executive Director, Sustained Dialogue Institute

As the Executive Director for the Sustained Dialogue Institute (SDI), Rhonda Fitzgerald works to oversee the reach of the Sustained Dialogue model to campuses, workplaces, communities, and countries. Rhonda has been with SDI since 2008 and worked alongside SD founder Dr. Harold Saunders for 8 years until his passing. Under her leadership, she grew the Sustained Dialogue Campus Network’s reach from higher education sites by engaging and providing tools for alumni seeking to bring SD to their workplaces, home country governments, and local communities. Rhonda is a trained mediator and facilitator of multiple processes of restorative justice and intergroup dialogue. She has led over 10,000 hours of difficult dialogues between groups in conflict, especially using the formal Sustained Dialogue 5-stage process about topics including race, hierarchy, ethnic mistrust, disability, religion, and resource and land conflicts. Rhonda lives in Washington, DC with her partner, Aaron, and their dogs. In her spare time, Rhonda reads, enjoys theater, and does some pro bono personal finance mentoring, especially for young people. Rhonda is an alumna of Princeton University, where she was first introduced to dialogue and transformative deep listening as a first-year participant in an SD group on race, which was the first time she experienced conversations that led to collaboration.

Dr. Matthew K. Witter

Associate Director, CCNY Counseling Center

Dr. Witter is the Associate Director of the Counseling Center and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology. He has been at CCNY for 5 years and before that was at Rutgers University. He specializes in work with college students, young adults, people who identify as queer, people with disabilities, and those going through major life transitions. In addition to his work at CCNY he has a small private practice in Chelsea and on Zoom where he sees primarily queer men. In his free time he loves Orange Theory Fitness, Broadway, and hanging out with his cats. Originally from California he is slowly getting used to the east coast winters.

Irving Levy

Peer Counselor Educator- Senior majoring in Psychology with a minor in English

Ving Levy is a rising senior at CCNY. He is a transfer student majoring in psychology and minoring in English. After graduation Ving plans to pursue a Psy.D. in preparation for a career in the field of psychology. Ving is a peer counselor educator for the upcoming school year and extremely excited about the opportunity. Ving was raised in New Jersey and currently lives in Washington Heights in New York. In his free time Ving enjoys baking, exercising, spending time with his niece, and watching sports.

Susan Zhu

Susan Zhu is a non-traditional undergraduate student at CCNY pursuing a degree in Psychology. She holds a passion for fighting mental health stigma and supporting struggling communities. Currently, she serves as a Peer Counselor Educator (PCE) with the CCNY Counseling Center, where she focuses on improving the mental health and awareness of fellow students. Growing up with immigrant parents and grandparents, Susan is deeply committed to her community and aims to pursue a Master's degree to further her impact in the field. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, she enjoys challenging physical activities such as bicycling or yoga, and relaxes by playing fetch with her beloved cat, Ezekiel.

Ethan Srebnick

Evening Manager of the Department of Student Life & Leadership Development

Ethan Srebnick, a Class of 2023 graduate from City College with a BA in Psychology and minors in Music and Black Studies, currently serves as the Evening Manager for the Department of Student Life and Leadership Development. In this role, he oversees Audio-Visual setups for a range of student and campus events, including student club events, cultural activities, orientations, and commencement.

Ethan has played a key role in organizing notable Student Life events such as the Black Excellence Forum and Black History Month Cultural Exchange Market. He also spearheaded "Celebrating Dominican Music," a collaborative event with Dominican artist Bryan Fernandez and the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute, highlighting Fernandez's final exhibition at The Shed's Open Call Gallery.

Ethan has a background in the music industry as an A&R at Automatic Records, where he helped recruit Montreal artist Mimo and contributed to the successful release of Mimo’s Mars Took Over EP. His music background also includes an internship at The Hip Hop Museum, and music production.

Ethan is committed to expanding his impact within local communities (especially hip-hop and Dominican) by facilitating vibrant cultural events that celebrate and elevate these rich traditions. His dedication to nurturing talent and fostering collaboration underscores his belief in the power of community and teamwork, ensuring that his peers have access to greater opportunities for growth. With a strong focus on education, Ethan is passionate about developing programs that empower and inspire the youth, providing them with valuable skills and experiences to shape their future. Through these efforts, Ethan continues to make a meaningful difference, championing cultural enrichment and collective advancement.
