Coming to a new school, one may not know all the ins and outs of City College, so here are some resources to get by.

Scholarships

USG General Scholarship:

This scholarship is available to any student that applies.

Requirement(s):

• Student must attend the City College of New York and have at LEAST one year of student life remaining.

Criteria:

• Essay (250-500 words) OR Video (2min +/- 10 seconds)

• Deadline – April 20th, 2022

• Reward: $1000

Prompt:

Describe a moment in your life in which you had to overcome adversity, and how has it given you the tools you need to succeed? (250 – 500 words)

USG Academic Support Scholarship

Often times students with lower GPAs are left without an opportunity to apply for scholarships. As a result, it can leave students in a loop in which a lack of financial security can contribute to a low GPA. In order to assist these students, this scholarship would only be available to students that score between a 2.0 – 2.9 GPA.

Requirements:

• Students must attend the City College of New York, have at LEAST one semester of student life remaining

• GPA: 2.0 - 2.9

Criteria:

• Essay (250-500 words) OR Video (2min +/- 10 seconds)

• Deadline – April 20th, 2022

• Reward: $1000

Prompt:

Why are you majoring in your field of study, and how will obtaining this scholarship aid you in raising your GPA, completing your academic requirements, and pursuing your passion? (250-500 words)

USG Making Strides Scholarship

Within the student body, we often find our formerly incarcerated students lacking the resources and opportunities that traditional students do. It is for that reason that it is important to provide them with an opportunity to reap benefits they otherwise may not be offered.

Requirements:

• Students must attend the City College of New York

• Must be formerly incarcerated

Criteria:

• Essay (250-500 words) OR Video (2min +/- 10 seconds)

• Deadline – April 20th, 2022

• Reward: $1000
