  1. What forms do I need to fill out?
    • You only need to click on the RSVP link to the left under Step One or click here.
  2. What if a second representative would like to attend the retreat?
    • They can place themselves on the Waiting List by choosing the Waitlist RSVP ticket option.
  3. Do I have to pay to go to the retreat?
    • You will not need to submit a $20 deposit as in previous years. Participants will be considered "no-shows" if you do not provide a cancellation email 8 BUSINESS DAYS prior to the retreat which means on or before TUESDAY AUGUST 1ST 5p.m. Failure to comply with proper notification will result in a CUNYfirst Service Stop being placed on your record. 
  4. Who is allowed to go to the retreat?
    • The student leadership retreat is geared towards undergraduate and graduate students who are in a leadership role at CCNY.
  5. What if I graduated already but want to attend the retreat?
    • Students who have completed their degree requirements in May are not eligible to attend. Unfortunately space is limited. If you are interested in attending the retreat please email Evelyn Ortega to be placed on a standby list which will be reviewed on July 10th to see if any seats remain. If space permits, these students would be asked to help contribute to the facilitation of the retreat weekend while on site.
  6. Can graduate students attend?
    • If a graduate student for the new upcoming year will be the leader of one of the graduate student clubs or Graduate Student Council then the student can attend the retreat.
  7. What if I am at a summer internship or away during the RSVP deadline?
    • All the components are online and should be completed by the deadline of 12p.m. on Friday, July 7th.
  8. How will we get there?
    • Buses will be chartered to take students to the retreat site.
  9. Where are we meeting to leave for the retreat?
    • We will be meeting in NAC 1/211 for check in.
  10. What time should we arrive on campus?
    • Check in will take place at 8:00a.m.
  11. When will we return to campus?
    • We are scheduled to return to campus by Sunday, August 13th 4:00p.m.
  12. How long is the retreat?
    • The retreat is for the weekend of Friday, August 11th 8:00a.m. to Sunday, August 13th 4:00p.m.
  13. Where will the retreat be held?
    • The Leadership Retreat will be held at Poconos Spring Retreat Camp Center.
  14. Will we need to bring our own food?
    • Food will be provided from breakfast at check in as well as lunch on Friday (bagged sandwiches) to lunch on Sunday (BBQ). Meals included are breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  15. What will the weather be like for the retreat?
    • During the day it will be warm. In the evening it will get cold despite the summer season. **Please make sure to pack layers.**
  16. What activities will be available at the retreat site?
    • The activities which will be at your disposable are bon fire, basketball, tennis, pool, lake and much more!
  17. What should I bring to the retreat?
    • We have a full list of suggested items to being. Click on left hand menu the "What to Bring" link to see the list.
  18. If I forget my hygiene/sanitary items, should I use a friend’s?
    • No you should not. The best thing to do is to look for an SLLD Staff member. We will have some supplies on hand to distribute to those in need.
  19. Do I need to bring bed linens and a pillow?
    • No you do not because linens, pillows and towels will be provided in each cabin. 
  20. Can I bring snacks?
    • The SLLD Staff will be bringing some snacks for the weekend. If you would like to bring snacks only bring a small quantity.
  21. How many students will be in a room?
    • It will be eight to ten students to a cabin where each will have their own bed.
  22. Do we get to pick who we will share a room with?
    • Cabins will be assigned to all who are attending and you will find out who will be your roommates at the retreat site.
  23. What if I need meal accommodations? 
    • If you need specific meal accommodations please make sure to indicate in the RSVP form for us to make proper arrangements.
  24. What is this year's theme?
    • The 22nd Annual CCNY Student Leadership Retreat theme for this year is "Tools of the Trade: Innovation, Advocacy, & Civility"
