We are more of a student to student approach. It is important to clarify we are not a peer support group. We plan to have guest speakers and events that all focus on de-stigmatizing mental health.

Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program

The Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program is a mission-based program that reaches out to high schools in underserved communities and brings them to the cuny school of medicine. We bring high school students to the campus every Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm to expose them to the sciences of medicine, and to expose them to different health care professions. We also provide our students with mentoring sessions. Our mentors are current medical students and undergraduate students in the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education Program. Our hopes for our high school students is to bring them closer to healthcare and to make them realize that they, too, can be a part of medicine.

Humanizing Homelessness

We aim to deteriorate the growing social stigma that surrounds homelessness in Harlem, and on a grander scale in America. Many people believe that those who are homeless have no motivation to better themselves and deserve their position in society. We, however, disagree and believe that not all homeless people deserve to be relegated to such a low standard. We want to give a voice to those who are voiceless, and more than anything else, desire to actively make a difference in our local community. We hope to garner support and increase our membership on the City College campus. Our aim is to provide students with an opportunity to give back to their community that is not only selfless but also enriching.

The Chapter has rightfully earned its place on the map through a diverse set of events which benefit the college community as well as the organization itself – events, workshops, and competitions all geared at instilling fundamental engineering principles and stimulating the awareness of the vast availability of opportunities for engineers to advance themselves as engineering professionals.

Medical Roots Project

Medical Roots Project is a not for profit global movement with a mission to re-define and demystify health care, thereby empowering citizens of the world to take their health and healing in their own hands. Through advocacy, professional/community education, cutting edge programs, and worldwide awareness events, we are urging citizens to take charge of their personal healing and take a stand for public safety by being educated, engaged, and equipped with the knowledge that you are universal health care! We build the Public Option for universal health care by teaching the Public their options for self-care as primary care. Pop Up Clinics teach basic skills, such as CPR, pressure dressing, stroke awareness, and narcotics management, that everyone should know to survive and thrive. Access to health care will be universal when everyone knows how to provide the care they need—and does it!

The Dominican Students Association

As members of the Dominican Student Association, we believe that by working together we can fulfill our overall objective of educating others, and ourselves, about the Dominican Republic. We will hold educational workshops, meetings, lectures, and social events to inform our members, and the City College community, of Dominican Republic’s history and everything our culture is truly about, in hopes to gain a better understanding of the nation. We will fulfill our goals by partnering with organizations in the City College community, engage the students in conversations about issues within the Dominican Republic and the U.S. affecting the Dominican community, and discuss ways in which we can help.

The Physics Club of CCNY

The Physics Club is meant to foster and encourage interest in Physics among the CCNY community. We aim to ease the path of students interested in majoring or minoring in physics. We also build a community among aspiring physicists in our club to help foster a synergistic collaboration and make life easier and more enjoyable for our members. We aim to take multiple trips every year, have a speaker or two from among other universities, and discuss the status of the physics department as well as get input from students.

The Psychology Club welcomes all students to join if they have any interest in psychology, seek support during their academic careers, or would like to contribute to the CCNY community.
